Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute ship repair projects (cargo holds, cranes, piping, tanks, etc.).

  • Conduct inspections, diagnose failures, and propose corrective and preventive solutions.

  • Oversee anchor and chain maintenance, including testing, replacements, and certification support.

  • Supervise welding, steel renewals, and structural reinforcement in compliance with class standards.

  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and repair schedules for clients and surveyors.

  • Collaborate with divers, technicians, and subcontractors during complex operations.

  • Ensure compliance with IMO, IACS, P&I, and Port State Control requirements.

Qualifications

We’re seeking a results-oriented engineer with strong maritime and mechanical expertise.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).

  • 3+ years of experience in ship repair, drydocking, or afloat maintenance.

  • Knowledge of anchor and chain systems, hull structures, and corrosion control.

  • Familiarity with welding codes (AWS D3.6M, ABS, DNV, BV standards).

  • Strong skills in repair planning, budgeting, and project execution.

  • Fluent Portuguese and English (Spanish is a plus).

  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to lead teams in high-pressure environments.
